2016 is almost here. A new year, a new beginning. While we all are looking forward to starting afresh, we cannot help but retrospect about the events that happened this year. Here are some influential, groundbreaking and even tragically catastrophic events that took place in the year 2015:

Mother Earth smiled a little and blessed us when nearly 200 countries reached a landmark climate change pact in Paris. The deal will help curb fossil fuel emissions which will in turn combat the rising temperatures.

After torrential rains flooded most of the city of Chennai, we witnessed what humanity is capable of. From people opening up their homes for the homeless to celebrated movie stars helping out in the rescue operations, everyone came together to help get the city back to normalcy.

For the first time in history, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia had an election which was open to female voters. A small step for man, a giant leap for womankind.
