You want to enshroud your heart in bravery while you jump off that tall peak and fly into the air or find yourself ‘neath the surface of those fluffy waves in the calm of the ocean with a feeling of solitude. India, is replete with adventure spots lavishly scattered around numerous cities. Be it the east, west north or south, there’s something for adventure seekers in every corner of India. Read on while I acquaint you with the many adventurous blessings our country bestows on us. Here’s where you can enjoy what suits you best.

Himachal Pradesh

Cycling is back in vogue, and now enjoy more by fitness freaks. Take a trip to the Kangra Valley in Himachal Pradesh and pedal your way through the winding roads 4,940 feet above the ground on a 260 kilometer path. Whoa! That is adventure and fitness in the thrill box, for you.


If white water rafting is your cup of tea, Himachal Pradesh won’t disappoint you. The Beas river in Kullu is renowned for exhilarating white water rafting expeditions with a copious amount of water gushing its way through the river course. Rafting can’t get more adventurous!

While you are already in the state of Himachal, do not miss the magnificence of ‘Manali’. The town is famed for a lot of adventures, paragliding and zorbing, being the best.

Trekking is another adventure you cannot skip on a visit to Himachal Pradesh. There are several spots like Kareri Lake Trek, Kinner Kailash Circuit Trek, Bara Bhangal Trek, Chanderkhani Pass Trek, Borasu Pass Trek, Deotibba Hampta Pass and many others that offer adventure in the form of trek trails. Some easy, some tough to complete, however, they are venturesome and undoubtedly exciting to cover.

Enjoy snowfall in India while you go skiing at the Hanuman Tibba or in Kurfi. As snowing is not a very usual thing in most parts of the country, skiing becomes an adventure on another level altogether. You could also indulge in the thrill of Heli skiing at Hanuman Tibba.

Arunachal Pradesh

This state is known for its biking trails with terrains the can get extremely challenging and mountain routes for the adventurous biker. An assignation of bikers to explore the hidden land of Arunachal Pradesh would serve as a real adventurous treat to kick start with roaring engines over hanging bridges and rugged paths.

Drift along the mystique river of Subansiri that traverses Arunachal Pradesh. The river is famed for fishing activities and white water rafting. Row your way through the gush of water flowing through the river while the ride gets twisty and bumpy. The river offers a thrilling experience and it boosts the adrenaline running through your veins.

Assam is not only famous for its tea plantations but also for some great wildlife adventure. Signup for an exciting elephant safari would sure spike up the adventure of your trip. You could spot Indian Tigers, Wild Buffaloes, Single Horned Rhinos and more. While the Kaziranga National Park would be an ideal place feast your eyes on Rhinos, the Nameri National Park is popular to spot Elephants, Leopards, Wild Boars, Himalayan Black Bears, Tigers, Elephants, gaurs and a lot other species.

Treks in Jammu and Kashmir are a true delight. Adventure is one thing and trekking in Kashmir is another. The Pin Parvati Valley trek is something you should try even if trekking is not your thing. The valley is referred to as the ‘Valley of Gods’, and is one of India’s oldest trek destinations. although the trail looks simple and the view so charming, the trek can get pretty strenuous for someone who isn’t quite used to trekking. The Stok Kangri Trek, Chadar Trek, Parang La Trek, Snow Leopard Trek and a couple of other trails make trekking an adventure to experience in Kashmir.

Skiing is yet another adventure delight in Kashmir. Gulmarg is popular for skiing and Heli skiing. The snow wrapped mountains serve as venturesome platforms for ski lovers.


A road trip to Leh would be the ultimate adventure for bikers traveling to Kashmir. Pack the essentials and plan a trip to Leh with your biker mates. It is a road to discover with a lot of stops and mesmerizing views on the way.

Experience the adventure of Bheemeshwari concealed in a lush forest bedizened by the mysterious River Kaveri, serving as a camping destination. This is a little out of the box, but the stranger the activity the more adventurous it gets. Coorg is yet another camping zone that serves as a bonus to campers.

Bangalore in Karnataka features an adventure with a microlight flight in the Jakkur Airfield.

You could fly over the magnificent landscapes and enjoy the bliss and beauty of mother nature.

Dandeli and Coorg white water rafting is a beautiful experience. The white water you sail against watching the milky foam that forms in the bargain with heavy splashes of water is something an adventurer would love to witness. The speedy raft against the force of water giving the sailors jerks and jumps sets in a vague kind of thrill and scare. The Kali river that traverses Dandeli and the Barapole River in Coorg showers its adventure thrills on everyone that comes its way.

Trekking adds to ample fun enticing the adventure seekers visiting Karnataka. Tadiandamol Peak Trek which is the highest peak in Coorg that offers breathtaking views of the surroundings. Ombattu Gudda Trek and Kudremukh Peak in Chikmagalur are famous peak to trek to.

Kerala, referred to as 'God's own country' is a paradise for adventure seekers with so much to explore.

Elephant Safari in Kothamangalam and wildlife safari in Periyar are common adventures to take on.

You could spot animals like Bengal tigers, Indian elephants and many others in Periyar while you could visit the elephant orphanage, feed and bathe elephants in Kothamangalam.

The gorgeous city is a delight to be viewed from atop while you breathe in the beauty of the area hundreds and hundreds of feet above the ground.

Munnar is also famous for cycling. The lush valley has a snake- like road twined around it with hairpin bends creating adventure for a cyclist.

Bamboo rafting in the Periyar lake National Park is an another way to observe the wildlife at the National Park.

Rafting is undoubtedly fun and if you are lucky, you’d get a glimpse of the animals that use the park as their home.

The Chembra Peak is worth a trek if you are determined to make it to the top. At the top of the peak, you find a gorgeous heart-shaped lake that makes the trek worth the while.

Also from the Chembra hills you can witness the mesmerizing Soochipara Falls. This is adventure at its best!


Explore the pink city by visiting the multiple forts in Jaipur. You could also cycle your way through the city to amp adventure.


Witness the beauty of the Thar desert on a camel as you make your way through the glorious golden bed of sand. Jeep safaris and desert camping are also options to choose from in the desert. You could also explore Jaisalmer on a camel safari. Wildlife Safari in Ranthambore National Park is another adventure where you can get a glimpse of quite a few wild animals.

Camping in Jodhpur is a true adventure when in Rajasthan. The bonfire and barbecue dinners are a real delight.

The views from the top are panoramic and magnificent while the chills running down your spine hanging by a belt at such height is a different pleasure altogether.


If you love adventure but are scared to take risks, the hot air balloon ride is something you should try. As you sway over the desert in a hot air balloon you do have a one percent doubt of an unexpected mishap, however, you are more comfortable and open to exploring the city and the ride while you enjoy the gorgeous views of the desert. You could take the hot air balloon ride in Pushkar, Jaipur, Ranthambore National Park and Jaisalmer.


Imagine you and your cycle on a hilly terrain amid the bliss of nature, exploring the beauty of Sikkim. The adventure in Sikkim is on another level. Take a cycle tour if it suits your area of excitement and explore the hilly region in Sikkim.

Tamil Nadu

Of course there is ample to enjoy on the land of Tamil Nadu. Pick a cycling tour which is a good blend of adventure and exercise. Pedaling through a village in Kadumbadi, with uneven trails and rugged paths feels like an off-roading adventure. You explore the beauty of the village and get familiar with the local lifestyle. A cycling tour is quite a delight as you explore the distinguished features of the south especially if you aren’t from the south.

If you consider camping in Kodaikanal, you’d find yourself amid the serene beauty of the Western Ghats with lush slopes and thick green surrounding you. You’d also get to explore a diverse range of wildlife and enjoy natural hiking trails. Bird watching is another common activity at Kodaikanal. Madhya Pradesh


If the adventure of wildlife is something that you look forward to, the Bandhavgarh National Park is somewhere you should take a trip to. Home to White Tigers, Royal Bengal Tigers, Indian Bison, Leopards and more, this park serves as an adventure hub for wildlife lovers. You could also enjoy an elephant safari at the Kanha National Park in Madhya Pradesh. This park shelters Indian Tigers, Elephants, Black Buck, Indian Gaurs and several other species.

Concealed in the state of Meghalaya, to the north of India, alluring caves, mesmerizing waterfalls, glorious hills of Khasi and Jaintia, and mountains. Krem Mawkhyrdop, Krem Dam, Krem Lymput and Krem Mawjymbuin, are caves you can explore on your adventurous trip.


Explore the magnificent beach in Mumbai by the ‘chowpathy’ (a concept created by the locals) and go kayaking in the azure waters of the sea. Watch the glorious city embrace the shoreline while you sail through the gorgeous Arabian sea. You could also enjoy yacht sailing here.

Between Mumbai and Pune, you have Lonavala, a hill station with massive dense green hills and waterfalls in the area. There are plenty of resorts and activities like paragliding, hot air ballooning and more to enjoy here.

About an hour and a half from Mumbai is Kundalika, a river that is famous for river rafting. The movement of the water here is artificially controlled by a damn near the river. However, the experience of rafting is still undoubtedly beautiful and adventurous.

Uttarakhand is more like a trekking hub that serves as a paradise to trekkers. West Bengal
