15 Best Flea Markets In Iowa

If you’re looking for some great antiques or collectibles at bargain prices, flea markets are the ideal places to visit. Iowa is one state that has a number of them also offering everyday goods such as clothes, tools and toys at hugely discounted prices. Most of these markets are usually open every day throughout the year while some open to host three-day events during the season. Let’s take a look at the top 15.

1. Awesome Possum Flea Market

Specialty: Hamburg’s beloved staple, this Flea Market is a grand meeting place for Hamburg locals. Get some awesome bargains on toys, glassware, purses, clothes, furniture, hats, games, pictures, odd novelties and puzzles. 

Address/location: Main Street, Hamburg.

Timings: Open on all days, 10 AM onwards.

2. Dubuque Flea Market

Specialty:  This flea market cum antique show is held thrice every year. The dates for 2018 are 11th February, 8th April and 7th October. There’s a $1 admission fee with kids under the age of 12 getting free admission. Known for its collection of unique antiques, crafts, arts, home goods, collectibles and some unusual used and new items. Arrive early because it gets crowded. 

Address/location: Old Highway Road in Dubuque

Timings: Open on 3 Sundays every year from 8 AM to 3 PM. 

3. Collectamania

Specialty: This market sells antiques, modern furniture, office equipment and furniture, household and lawn equipment, vehicles and real estate by auction. It is also licensed to sell firearms. 

Address/location: Delaware Avenue, Des Moines

Timings: All Wednesdays, 6 PM onwards. 

4. Memory Lane Flea Market

Specialty: It hosts over 150 vendors selling collectibles, shoes, office supplies, books and movies. Moreover, the merchandize constantly keeps changing. The vendors are friendly and even offer you coffee and cookies while you haggle. 

Address/location: Indian Hills, Sioux City

Timings: Open Monday to Saturday-- 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM; Sundays – Noon to 6:00 PM. 

5. Geneva Market

Specialty: Here you have over 100 vendors selling anything from fabulous antiques, repurposed vintage stuff to freshly baked edibles and handcrafted items. It’s also home to Epic Eateries, a popular spot that sells packs of ready mix flavors for barbecues and stir fries. 

Address/location: Hampton

Timings: Open on all days

6. Peters Park Flea Market

Specialty: A somewhat premium flea market, Peters Park is known for its Volkswagen-style kids dressers, Chanel purses, unique lamps made from meat grinders  as also Coca Cola vending machines. Be prepared for surprises at every bend. 

Address/location: Transit Avenue.

Timings: Open Monday to Sunday, from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. 

7. New 2 U Treasures

Specialty:  This flea market is ideal for used and new goods at pretty affordable prices. Look around for kitchen ware, shoes, unique dining sets, tools, home decor, collectibles, electronics and antiques. 

Address/location: Army Post Road, Des Moines

Timings: Open on all days, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. 

8. Sweet Repeats Flea Market

Specialty: A high-end consignment shop and market, Sweet Repeats Flea Market sells the whole gamut of home décor items, purses, jewelry, fishing accessories, makeup, furniture and paintings, at reasonable prices. Its cheerful, clean and pleasant environment makes it a crowd puller. 

Address/location: Transit Avenue, Sioux City

Timings: Mondays to Sundays, 11:00 AM -- 5:00 PM. 

9. Shaggy's Indoor Flea Market

Specialty: The antique lover’s spot. Also a great place for collectibles, handcrafted or vintage items. Its expansive collection ranges from priceless gift items to tools, toys and other household items. Also popular for its home décor items, electronics, art, cookware, glassware and jewelry. 

Address/location: Cres Ridge #2, Dubuque

Timings: Tuesday to Sunday -- 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Online store also available. 

10. The Ladora Junque-tion Market

Specialty: You get vendors from all over the US getting together at Ladora in Iowa, to hawk a mind boggling variety of goods ranging from daily basics like socks and deodorants to priceless art works. Free parking available as are several food trucks for a quick bite. 

Address/location: Iowa Street

Timings: Twice annually, once in spring and during the fall. 

11. The Barn

Specialty: This is a famous wedding venue actually, which gets converted to a great flea market, attracting buyers and sellers from the entire country. You’ll find everything from shabby-chic to handmade stuff here. Take your pick from home appliances, books, décor items and much more. Its brick oven-made pizza and ice cream are to die for. 

Address/location: V Avenue, Wellman

Timings: Twice a year, during spring and fall. 

12. Treasure Village

Specialty: Home to over 60 vendors, this flea market offers antiques, arts & crafts, collectibles, tools, sports memorabilia, toys, coins, furniture, novelties and clothing. Great food available including some mind blowing baked stuff. Free parking and admission available. 

Address/location: Highway 86, Milford.

Timings: Open during summer --  Three 3-day weekends in June, July and September from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. 

13. The What Cheer Flea Market 

Specialty: You have a mammoth crowd of more than 500 vendors selling their goods both in outdoor and indoor locations. You get everything from antiques, arts & crafts, collectibles, tools, sports memorabilia, toys, coins, furniture, novelties and clothing, thrice a year.  

Address/location: Keokuk County Fairgrounds on the main road. 

Timings:  3 days in May, August and October, respectively, 9 AM onwards. 

14. The Wapello Flea Market

Specialty: This flea market is ideal to have a fun weekend during Iowa’s most pleasant months. Over 50 sell antiques, new stuff and vintage items. 

Address/location: 709 Highway.

Timings: Held on the 3rd weekends of April to October. Saturdays-- 8 AM to 4 PM; Sundays -- 8 AM to 2 PM.

15. West Kimberly Mall

Specialty: A great place for a family outing, this flea market focuses on everyday goods as also on antiques and unique vintage items. Hosts around 130 vendors. Try its Dust Bowl Granny’s, which sells some unique postcards and invitations; liquor & beer decor, homemade handicrafts, vintage clothing and Amish foods. 

Address/location: Kimberly Road in Davenport

Timings: Monday to Saturday: 10:30 AM - 5:30 PM; Sunday: 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
