Inner Peace

What better way to start off your day than having a tete-a-tete with your inner spiritual self? The Maitreya-Buddha Mega Pyramid is a gigantic structure that can house 5000 people and is designed in such a way that it helps in the channelization of positive energy while meditating. Either that or you might just encounter a Mummified Pharaoh in the corridor if you are lucky.

Eat. Sleep Eat. Repeat. If you are a sincere follower of this dharma, then the first thing that you can do when you wake up is head to the nearest breakfast outlet. Being in Bangalore you’ll be in luck as the city is flooded with such shops. Koshy’s is famous for its English breakfast and is probably the only place that serves beer in the morning! Other popular spots are Sree Sagar, Hole in the Wall and MTR Bangalore.

If you are looking to get back in shape or love to delve into some adventurous activities or don’t mind pedaling a cycle for fun then going out for a cycling expedition is the perfect thing for you to do soon as the sun is up. Bangalore has numerous cycling trails like the one on Ghati Ghats and Nandi Hill. Movie buffs can also opt to go for a biking safari through the Sholay Village. Quite a few scenes of the legendary movie were shot here and one can’t help but wonder out aloud ‘’Kitne Aadmi The?’’!

Dust In The Wind

If elegant breakfast bores you and adventure is your middle name then you can opt to rough it out on the mud track! Quite a few places in Bangalore offer Quad and Dirt biking opportunities for the adrenaline junkies. You can easily drive down to any such service provider and go crazy in the dirt. The rough terrains make your drive challenging and enjoyable. Reaching there early in the morning will help you beat the crowd and get some lone time at the track with your buds.

Dodda Aladha Mara

Literally translated to Big Banyan Tree, Dodda Aladha Mara is almost 4 centuries old and covers an area of 3 acres. One of the largest of its kind, the Banyan tree is located at a distance of 28 kilometers from the city, making it one of the closest places to visit near Bangalore. It is usually flocked with tourists who come to marvel at its immense size and graceful beauty, but if you reach early in the morning, you will find the place extremely peaceful to wander around. Some people prefer to cycle here while others take a car or bus.

Sky Is The Limit

The city of gardens is beautiful when toured by road, but it becomes astonishingly splendid when viewed from up in the air. The joy of flying can be enjoyed by anyone on a Short Takeoff & Landing (STOL) aircraft at the Jakkur Aerodrome. Don’t worry you are briefed about the instructions before actually flying and then you are free to assist the pilot as the co-pilot and enjoy the splendid view of Bangalore.

They See Me Rollin’

Go for a long relaxing drive early in the morning to avoid all the jams and honking of the city traffic and have a soothing experience on an empty road. You can either head to nearby destinations like the Anthargange caves, Shivanasamudra Falls or just head out on the road to make the most of the drive itself on your car/bike.

Just 70 kilometers from Bangalore lies the beautiful location of Bilikal Ranganatha Swamy Betta. It is a hill with a temple dedicated to Lord Ranganatha Swamy on top. One can take permission from the Forest Department office in Bannerghatta and hike to the top of the mountain as the first rays of the sun slowly illuminate the hill overhead.

Thattekere Lake

Just a short drive away from the city, the Thattekere Lake is a masterpiece of natural beauty. The best time to come here and admire the true beauty of the lake is early morning, when the sun slowly rises and bathes the lake in its entire splendor. There are a variety of birds too looking out for some early breakfast and if you are lucky and have a keen eye, you may catch an occasional sight of Storks, Kingfishers, Lapwings and many-many more.

Lal Bagh Botanical Gardens

The Lal Bagh Botanical Garden is spread over a massive 240 acres and has thousands and thousands species of flowers and plants. People from far off come here to take a look at its majestic Red Rose Garden. But coming to the park at dawn is a special treat as the park is still untouched from all the pollution of the day.

So what are you waiting for? Don’t waste away those precious weekends whiling away your time binge-watching and snoring! Go out and have a taste of Bangalore like you never did!
