The City of Nizams, Hyderabad is home to some astonishing monuments. From the marvellous Charminar to the imposing Golconda Fort, Hyderabad has a lot to offer. And one thing that comes to your mind when you hear the word Hyderabad is Biryani. Well yes, what Rosogulla is to Kolkata, Biryani is to Hyderabad. Hyderabad has some of the most delicious dishes to offer. It is the perfect destination for foodies with dishes like Nihari, Paaya, Biryani & Haleem on the list. Today we shall leave these dishes aside and see how is Hyderabad for vegetarians. Hyderabad does have a lot of dishes and desserts to offer for vegetarians as well. So here are vegetarian places to eat in Hyderabad which every Vegetarian Foodie must try.

Chutneys

Hyderabad is known for its vegetarian food, especially the afternoon meals. A filling spread with a good number of items, the thali is quite popular here. With unlimited rice on offer, this is the go-to dish for the locals. Chutneys is one of the most well known chain of vegetarian restaurants in the city. They have a branch in Inorbit Mall, Madhapur, Begumpet and Banjara Hills to name a few. Apart from the Thali, Guntur Idli is a must try when you are at Chutneys.

Gokul Chat

Chat Cravings ? Head to Gokul Chat. This famous chat shop was struck by a terrorist attack way back in 2007. But today the place is flocked by thousands to relish the famous chat. Gokul Chat has a couple of branches, one in Koti and other in Dilsukhnagar. They have dishes like Papdi Chat and Samosa Chat on offer along with Pani Puri and Dahi Puri. Gokul chat is probably the best place to have satisfy your chat cravings in Hyderabad.

Ohri's Jiva Imperia

When it comes to Buffet, most of the restaurants in the country don't have a lot to offer for vegetarians. And even if they do, the prices are unjustified. Steps in Ohri's Jiva Imperia, a pure vegetarian buffet restaurant. The restaurant serves vegetarian buffer during lunch and dinner. The royal ambiance and good food is what Jiva Imperia is known for. For just below Rs 500, the all vegetarian buffet at Ohri's is worth every penny.

Chachaji Vada Pav

They use the word Vada Pav and Mumbai interchangeably and why not, vada pav is the staple diet of Mumbai. But finding an authentic maharashtrian tasting vada pav in Hyderabad isn't easy. There's only one place where you can find the best Vada Pavs - Chachaji Vada Pav in Sindhi Colony. This is no swanky restaurant, it's rather a food cart. Run by an aunty, the stall serves only Dabeli and Vada Pav and is overly crowded during evenings. In fact the entire Sindhi Colony is known for its street food delicacies in Hyderabad.

Raam ki Bandi

Most of the people believe that Hyderabad too relishes Idli and Dosa for breakfast. Well that is true to an extent. Hyderabadis love their dosas, but not from a restaurant but from a Bandi (food cart) And when you talk about Bandi, there's no one better than Raam ki Bandi. Located at a prime location in Nampally, Raam ki Bandi is visited by people from all walks of live. He serves a lot of variety of dosas - classic as well as innovatives ones. 

So you see, Hyderabad isn't a city just for the non-vegetarians, there's a lot the city has to offer the vegetarians. Even the Veg. Biryani is quite different from what you might eat at other places. Qubani ka Meetha and double ka Meetha are the most well known and loved desserts in the city. So if you are a vegetarian and planning to visit Hyderabad you know where you should head to !
