The specialists at Club 23 in Melbourne created The Winston by mixing a little Croizet Cognac from 1858, Chartreuse Vieillissement Exceptionnellement Prolong, Grand Marnier Quintessence, Angostura Bitters and served with chocolate and nutmeg soil. Finally, some dry ice essence infused with citrus peel and spices is added at the top. The club has to be informed 3 days in advance to give them time to prepare it and, oh yeah, remember to keep around $13,000 handy for the drink!

The ultimate decadence in anything sweet, the Serendipity 3 in New Orleans created the sweet dish that was once the most expensive dessert according to the Guinness World Records in 2007. This sinful delight is made up of the usual cocoas, whipped cream and frozen milk, and then 5 grams of 24-carat gold are mixed into the dessert. A special truffle called the La Madeline au Truffe is flown in from France and is used to garnish the dish.

Because it isn’t royal enough already, the dessert is then served in a goblet surrounded by a gold and diamond crown and a gold spoon is provided. The price tag is a tear-inducing $25,000!

6. A Chateau in France
