It would be interesting to hear stories from old timers who were taking road trips on holiday before the days of GPS and mobile apps that all but assure you that you will arrive at your destination by the shortest, safest route possible based on location of origin and destination.
There are literally dozens of apps, of course some better than others, and some are able to be accessed online from your laptop whilst others can be downloaded right to your mobile phone. In fact, you can even download the Toptests mobile app to help you prepare for your driving theory test so that you have your driving licence in plenty of time to enjoy your next holiday on the road. The only thing you need to do to get this particular app is to click on the Apple or Android link on the blue bar on the homepage and you will be taken to the right app store to get your free practice test app. It’s amazing what technology has to offer these days.
Now then, on to the apps that will make your trip almost effortless. The only thing you need to watch for is that random driver who may still be inattentive whilst reading his or her map!
Check Out Triphobo

As you plot your itinerary, it is saved on the site and then you can download the Triphobo app for either iOS or Android from the proper play store. That’s it!
Take your itinerary along with you, change it up if you amend your trip or travelling dates in any way and keep it all in your pocket or purse because it’s all saved in that handy mobile app you carry along with you. You wouldn’t leave your phone at home, would you? Well then, you will also have your Triphobo app with you as well!
Extended GPS Apps

It is safe to say that all smartphones today come equipped with proprietary GPS apps that you can access at any time, from any location as long as your provider has cover where you are. Some spots are considered to be dead spots because there are no towers nearby, but for the most part you will be able to access your GPS and plug in key locations where you are headed to receive the fastest, easiest route and mode of transport. These are good apps to have if you know where you are going and where you’d like to stop along the way but if you are looking for some helpful suggestions and hints, a mobile app more in line with the above mentioned trip app would be much more effective.
Today mobile apps can help you do everything from completing household chores to shopping for groceries to keeping fit and everything in between. Why not plan your next holiday with a mobile app and never get lost on the road again? They’re quick, user friendly and best of all? They’re free!
