Explore Singapore in 3 Days

You could easily spend weeks in Singapore and still discover new things to do in Singapore. I can spend days spoiling myself in many one of the luxury spas or world class restaurants, but if you only have a few days then you need to maximise your time and pick some of the many highlights the city has to offer. So if you do only have limited time in this amazing country, here are just some of my personal favourite highlights to make the perfect three day layover.

DAY 1 IN SINGAPORE:

Explore Singapore at your own pace on the fun, flexible Singapore Hop-On, Hop-Off Tour. With more than 40 stops covering all of Singapore’s main attractions such as Mustafa Centre, Singapore Flyer, Chinatown, and Clarke Quay, this tour provides the perfect introduction to Singapore. Your hop-on, hop-off ticket comes with a validity of either 24 hours or 48 hours. There are 4 routes on this Hop-On Hop-Off tour of Singapore (City Route, Original Route, Heritage Route and Garden/Sentosa Feeder Route). Your ticket allows you unlimited use, meaning you can hop-on and hop-off as many times as you like at any of the designated stops!

Visit the world's first wildlife park at night in Singapore. Explore any of the three walking trails on foot, the Fishing Cat Trail, the Leopard Trail or the Forest Giants Trail. Or take a 45 minute tram ride covering 3.2km to catch endearing antics of rhinos, elephants, giraffes, tapirs, tigers and lions, along with a variety of birds. This part of the Zoo is a combination of walking trails and a tram with audio narration. It allows you to get close to the nocturnal animals - very close - without disturbing them too much. The Safari offers a good variety of animals that appear to be well-treated. [Duration - 4 hrs. Start time - 18:00].You can add these add in your Singapore itinerary 3 days also.

DAY 2 IN SINGAPORE:

After breakfast, head over to the Jurong Bird Park, Southeast Asia’s largest bird park where your kids will meet some of the world’s most majestic and mysterious birds of prey while even handling some of these raptors! This tour is a must for bird enthusiasts and a pleasure for those who simply enjoy nature in all its beauty. I loved the beautiful pink flamingos located at Flamingo Pool and Lake. At the Bird Park, you'll find hundreds of exotic birds flitting happily about their daily lives. In fact, I love how over 7,000 birds of more than 600 species gathered in this beautiful 20- hectare sanctuary! Also included is an amusing 25-minute Bird Show and Birds of Prey Show. The trails were easy to follow with the help of a map.

AFTERNOON:

After a leisurely lunch, you can take a relaxing ride up to the skies on the Singapore Flyer, the world’s largest observation wheel for breath-taking panoramic views of the city.

EVENING:

Enjoy the Garden by the Bay. Just opposite MBS, this man made garden is one of the world's coolest 'green' initiatives, the innovative gardens featuring solar-powered trees and climate-controlled flower domes. The idea that this place is a garden is a true understatement. Don't skip it because you think you don't want to look at plants and flowers. When they look this awesome, you want to see it! Of course it features a plethora of trees and flowers but there's a secret in the Cloud Forest I won't share here but you absolutely have to see it!

MARINA BAY:

Luxury and then some. This iconic three-pronged Marina Bay Sands has been a real focal point of Singapore. Not only does it look the part, but this massive complex is also a great place to hit after dark and for so many reasons. I honestly like the infinity pool to be the best. The view from the pool of Singapore city is to die for! It is a photography paradise. Definitly Marina Bay makes to the list of places to visit in Singapore for honeymoon.

Bring your family on an adventure at Sentosa Island Universal Studio, they will never forget at the very first Universal Studios in Asia, as you enter a thrilling world of movie magic. There are attractions for families, thrill-seekers and of course, movie junkies. Explore the zones at Universal namely Hollywood, New York, Sci-Fi City, Ancient Egypt, the Lost World, Far Away & Madagascar. Discover the awe-inspiring world of life in the ocean at the world’s largest aquarium. Step into S.E.A. Aquarium and immerse yourself in a magical marine world seen through our planet’s largest window to the ocean. With more than 800 species of marine animals, the aquarium is home to majestic manta rays, enormous goliath grouper, Napoleon wrasse, and other gentle giants of the sea. Come face-to-face with over 200 sharks and uncover the centuries of myths about these ocean predators.

EVENING:

Quite touristy but trust me this is one place to be. Any discussion about where to go for evening drinks in Singapore usually starts here. It is safe, and you don't HAVE to buy anything, can just go people watch. Especially the Bungee ride! Ample bars, clubs and restaurants to choose from. Clarke Quay is gifted with one of the best locations in the city, set around a picturesque body of water in the shadow of the towered CBD skyline in the background. Row upon row of swanky bars and restaurants line the colourful boulevards offering great alfresco dining, whilst clubs like Attica and Zirca appease the more bass-music inclined. Oh, and there’s a Hooters!!

So plan your trip to Singapore for minimum 3 days and extend till it as long as possible.
