Have you noticed that even with all the travel tips and tricks out there, only a few are for men? So, we decided to share some best travel tips for guys because no one is talking about it. Travel is not all about exploring places, it is also about feeling good while vacationing. Even if you are on a business trip, let your colleagues know you are all in for a stylish journey. So, read on and make sure that you are ready for the next chic vacay. No need to thank us because we believe all men must travel with style!
1. Dress to impress
As cliche as it may sound, travel looks for guys matter a lot. I have seen so many guys traveling, who dress like they are competing with zombies. Comfort and all is great, but keep in mind that when you were busy explaining the concept of comfort, only to defend your lazy travel-dressing sense, that guy with a well-trimmed beard and ironed clothes had it easy at the security check and was offered a seat in first class.
2. Clothing with pockets is love
So now you are wondering how you are supposed to dress good and yet be comfortable during that 8-hour long flight, right? But, trust me, comfort and style can go hand-in-hand only if you know how to pair it. Stretchable jeans can be the best travel clothes for men when you are crammed in those uncomfortable plane seats. Wear that funky sports jacket and turn it into a woman’s purse. You can stuff all the pockets with everything from your phone’s charger to breath fresheners.
3. Time to put on slip-on footwear
Flip aside those flip flops and go for those slip-on shoes everyone is talking about for days now. Always better than the hassle of lace-on-lace-off shoes, this footwear is as travel-friendly as it gets. Small things like these are crucial in men’s travel fashion. And the best thing is, slip-on sneakers or shoes go with a number of different styles making your luggage at least a shoe-pair lighter. A win-win even when you are not traveling by flight, I must say.
4. Rock those sunglasses
Traveling with style and yet not burn a hole in a pocket is everyone’s dream. It is surprising how one simple aviator shades can do wonders. Be it a leisure traveler look or that ‘do not disturb me’ business travel look, it can easily be achieved with the right sunglasses. Try not to wear those flamboyant ones though only to look “cool”.
5. Keep your cords right
I have always come across fellow men travelers that carry everything from a phone, a kindle, an iPad, to a laptop only to forget a separate charger for each one. Do yourself a favor and don’t be that traveler. But, when you do carry all those cables, pack each charger as well as headphones separately and avoid having a cord-cutter. You may not think keeping all the cables is that big a deal, but it will save you from irritation.
6. Carry your Dopp kit
I know many of you already have a Dopp kit and you also try to use it while traveling. But, the list of Dopp kit essentials can be a bit confusing. So, here it goes - Do not rely on hotel toiletries and pack a travel-sized shampoo, body wash, razor, shaving cream, aftershave, and deodorant. Of course, a toothbrush, toothpaste along with a dental floss are a must! Don’t be a dope and pack a comb in your Dopp kit, please.
7. Roll away when flying away
Proud of yourself for being able to pack fewest clothes possible? Don’t be! Instead, learn how to pack things right. That jacket, those ties, all the dress trousers - everything has got to be rolled. You even should start rolling socks and putting it in shoes to save space. (It will also maintain the shape of a shoe during a journey.) Start packing a suitcase and you will realize how important role these men’s travel packing tips can play.
8. The right time to unpack
After reaching your hotel room, that bed may look comfy enough to forget your suitcase. But, leave that aside for some time and start unpacking. The longer you leave your jacket in a bag, the more the chances of it wrinkling. And why leave shoes with clothes when you can put those in a drawer? Do not forget to check if hotel drawers are clean or else it will ruin your nicely packed shirts and tees.
Do it right, do it in style. Happy traveling!
