One of the top holiday destinations in October, Karnataka is one of my fondest memory of Diwali vacations as a child. The coffee estates of Coorg, back then bestowed you with an unparalleled charm and continue to do even today. Of course, there is a spurt in the number of recreational properties and accommodations with several 5-stars coming here. With Wayanad lying just at a 2-hour drive from here, Bangalore-Coorg-Wayanad was our favorite triangle. Speaking of which one cannot miss the other famous triangle of Bangalore-Ooty-Mysore. Not just the places, but there is something about road tripping through Karnataka’s rustic villages; an experience that cannot be explained in words.

This is when the temperatures at their pleasant best, just before the chilly winter begins to creep in. It is most popular for the Nathu La Pass where you get the opportunity to greet soldiers from across the Indo-China border, mesmerizing sunrises and sunsets with panoramas of the Kanchenjunga peak and of course several Buddhist monasteries.
