Hotels in Lhasa, China
Where to Stay in Lhasa, China?
Four Points Sheraton – Number 5, Section 1, Lin Kuo East - +891 834 8888
English speaking staff are a particular highlight here, and the rooms come with humidifiers. Western and Chinese dining options.
Kyichu – 18 Bejing Zhong Lu - +891 633 1541
A decent mid-range option with a great restaurant and friendly staff.
Lhasa Hotel – 1 Minzu Road
Avoid this place at all costs, it's billed as a 5 star but has a reputation for being the worst hotel in town. It used to be a Holiday Inn but it is now run by the government, and sadly it shows.
St. Regis – No 22, Jiangsu Road
This is probably the best (but most expensive) option in Lhasa, truly exceptional design and service make it a stand out place to stay not just for Tibet but for the whole of China.
Phuntsok Khasang Youth Hostel – 48 Dosenge Road - + 891 6915 222
One of the best budget options in the city, clean and well run.
Dong Cuo International YHA – 10 Beijing East Road - +891 632 3462
Another acceptable hostel, though not quite as nice as the other.
Snowland Restaurant – Tenjieling Road, nr. Jokhang Square
A mix of Western, Nepali, Tibetan and Indian food which is very popular and comes with great service.
New Mandala Restaurant – Jokhang Temple
This place offers a roof top garden and the chance to relax a little over a Yak Sizzler.
