Budget

• There are no budget hotels in Longyearbyen, but you have the option of camping near the airport. The shower and toilet facilities in the service building are however only open during the summers.

Mid-range

• Spitsbergen Hotel: Located close to the town centre, with nice, clean rooms and a helpful staff.

Luxury

• Radisson Blu Polar Hotel, Spitsbergen, Longyearbyen: A cosy hotel with comfortable, warm rooms and great breakfast options.

PLACES TO EAT

• Kroa: A restaurant that serves good food in large portions. Their klippfisk is worth trying. Reservations are recommended as this is a popular restaurant.
• Huset: Don’t be fooled by the drab exteriors. Delectable food and a great wine selection, that’s what this restaurant is all about. Try their steak.
• Svalbar: A vibrant bar with good drinks and great food. Their burgers and steaks should be tried. The friendly staff is a plus.
• Restaurant Nansen: This restaurant is inside the Radisson Blue Polar Hotel. A nice place to try some authentic Scandinavian food and desserts.
• Fruene Kaffe Og Vinbar: A cafe/bakery that’s quite a hit with the locals. You will find great food at reasonable prices. The sandwiches are especially good.
