Where to Stay in Naples, Italy?

Naples has long been a popular tourist destination, so there are no shortages of accommodation on the city, ranging from palaces, to luxury hotels, to small Bed and Breakfasts. Unfortunately for the backpacker and budget traveller, cheaper accommodation is not particularly prevalent.

  • Budget: However, cheaper hotels can be found in the less desirable locations of the city, such as around the Piazza Garibaldion and the Mercato Quarter's Via Firenze. You can also save money by camping. Make sure you have more than enough just for accommodation in order for you to enjoy your stay in Naples.
  • Mid-range: Upmarket hotels, on the other hand, can be found in the peaceful suburbs of Santa Lucia, Vomero and Toledo.
  • Luxury: Most tourists choose hotels in the centre of the action, the 'centro storico' area, walking distance from many of the famous attractions.

  • Randy's Fish House: The owner of this seafood restaurant has been in the business for many years, and the Key Lime Pie is a famous menu item that is even sent all over the country. You also find delicious traditional dishes here but expect to have some fish in each and every dish.
  • The Bamboo Cafe: Right across form the bay of Naples, this intimate bistro serves home-style French cooking fused with North African touches. There is also a live jazz musician on certain nights.
