• San Antonio Mariott River Center: This Hotel is located in the heart of the city near the River Walk and is connected to the Rivercenter Mall and an IMAX theatre. It is extremely popular among tourists as it is the ideal place to stay and explore the city sights.
• Mokara Hotel & Spa: This luxury resort is also located on the River walk and features a world class spa to pamper yourself at. A little on the higher budget side, it features well-appointed suites, many of which overlook the river as it glides gently through the city.
• Baymont Inn: Located 7 miles from SeaWorld, this Hotel is not too pricey but has great accommodation and facilities. It is also close to the Lackland Air Force Base so you may be disturbed by the constant take off and landing of F16 fighter jets. Squadrons of these jets are a sight to behold as they thunder through the desert skies.
• Howard Johnson Suites Central: These well-appointed and budgeted suites are located 7 miles north of the River Walk. They have a great outdoor pool and hot-tub as well as free Wi-Fi and well-appointed suites. Not to heavy on the wallet, this is a great place to stay and enjoy the city to its full capacity.

The city has amazingly diverse cuisine influences from Tex-Mex to traditional Italian and traditional Southwestern cuisine. The River Walk is home to hundreds of restaurants that all cater to different palates and budgets and afford you a wonderful experience dining under quaint umbrellas on the banks of the river. Some of the most popular restaurants are:

• Achiote: Predominantly Latin flavored, this restaurant has the unique ability to combine Latin and Asian cuisine, making for some interesting combinations. The Cuban Spring Rolls and the Hoisin Glazed Duck Quesadilla’s are some of the most popular dishes here.
• La Paloma River Walk: La Paloma is a family run restaurant by the Flores family who have more than 50 years of experience in the hospitality industry. They serve scrumptious traditional Mexican cuisine. The Tacos here are made in homemade shells and are the fastest selling dish in the restaurant.
• The Fig Tree: This beautiful restaurant is in the building which used to host the French Embassy at one point of time. With amazing architecture and vibes, a meal on one of their terraces overlooking the river is not to be missed. They serve up traditional Continental cuisine, with delectable steaks and Seafood. A must visit if you are in the city.
