The Ace is an interesting place. The check in was fast and friendly, and the desk upgraded us to the biggest room I've ever had in NYC. There was a full sized sized fridge in room. There was also a Martin guitar in the room (?), but I would have preferred a coffee maker instead. The hotel lobby was small, loud, and always packed with people staring at their screens. One night during our stay there was some very curious entertainment in a small basement theater. All in all the Ace is a comfortable and convenient hotel, and I will stay there again.
Fabulous! Stayed at the hotel for Memorial Day Weekend 2017. It was just me and my friend. We had asked for a higher floor room and we got a 9th floor room which was pretty good in a 12 - floor hotel. The hotel was beautifully decorated and the staff was very courteous. Our room was spacious enough and the bed was comfortable. The view from our room was excellent too. After we checked out the hotel even helped us by storing our luggage while we went out in the city. Walking distance to Times Square and lots of other tourist attractions. Special thanks to the guy at the door who was so very generous to have clicked pictures for us. Great place to stay.
Sat in the lobby after buying a drink from Stumptown Coffee Roasters which is attached to the hotel. The atmosphere was cozy, there were many other people sitting around with laptops out. The couches were reasonably cozy and the bathrooms, located downstairs, took a little bit of finding once I got down to the bottom of the stairs (although I also have zero sense of direction-- it was right next to the stairs) but were extremely clean. Would recommend as a place to chat with friends or to do some work on your laptop--however it might be a little more difficult to get physical paper work done since the lighting is a little dim.
I went to visit Stumptown Coffee Roasters. Excellent coffee. Certainly on the bright side but it blends wonderfully in an iced vanilla latte. I would love to go back and try a hot drink. Only thing is it's a little crowded and service is merely passable. They seem only to be there because they have to be.
Ace hotel is modern and hip hotel. Stayed here overnight. Staff are friendly and accomodating. Rooms and bathroom are spacious, chic and hip, and with a great view of the empire state building. I highly recommend Ace hotel.
