  • Great choice for our short stay in NYC. Wife and I were in the city to attend a taping of the Colbert show and a concert, so the Times Square location was ideal. The hotel interior was nice and the rooms were well appointed. Housekeeping was efficient and did a great job keeping the room clean. Also really liked the security check during the evening. Also we got a deal on the price, so that was also a plus. Would definitely stay at the Westin again when we come back to the city.

  • I enjoyed my stay here. The hotel is modern and is in a fantastic location. We walked to Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Central Park and many other places. The bed was comfortable, we had a cool view and the staff was nice. A continental breakfast was also included with our stay, which I appreciated. This is in the heart if NYC so know you may hear cars honking until the wee hours but that is part of the experience. Housekeeping could have been a little better-- but I would stay here again.

  • The location is great. There is a subway station that's really close so I took the q70 and then the E train to get to it from the airport. Took around an hour. I really like the spacious rooms and how clean everything is. The beds are super soft. However the signs on the elevators 'tricked' me into attending the breakfast which apparently wasn't included in the room (this was a business trip I hadn't purchased the tickets). On top of that I only got 24 hours of internet. After that it was priced. The rooms had all the necessary amenities (soap, shampoo, iron) but no toothpaste or brush (though I think you can order those). Overall I really enjoyed my stay but it's a bit pricey for my taste.

  • Shiny on the surface, TERRIBLE customer service. At first sight, the Westin New York Times Square looks like a great hotel. We stayed here in August 2017 for a conference. The rooms were clean and the space was well laid out. My complaint is with the terrible customer service. Because this was a work-related conference where I was sharing a room, I asked to have my card added to the room account so we could split costs at check-out. The Reception desk told me they were not doing that at the time and would add my card at check out. I asked if that would cause any issues since there were three of us looking to split and she said it was no problem at all. Fast forward to check out, and I have an extremely early flight. When I go downstairs to check out and catch a cab, I discover they have chosen then to re-boot their system and can not access anything for my check out for at least 30 minutes. I need to use my company card to avoid reimbursement hassles so I ask if I can phone it in since I am on my way to the airport, which the desk clerk couldn't answer, other than to say she didn't think they could do that but I could call and try. Her only solution was that I leave my friend to pay the bill and just pay her back. This doesn't work when you're trying to use your corporate account. I call and of course they refuse to take the card over the phone. They offered no alternative solutions to the problem they created. I asked for a supervisor and was told that no one would be available until Monday. I sent an email to their Customer Relations and received no response at all. This was terrible. It was the most straight forward arrangement for making payments and they're refusal to take my card at the beginning coupled with their poor timing to reboot the system created a problem that could easily be fixed. I do not recommend this hotel for business travel. I have never encountered such poor planning and execution from a hotel that hods itself as being good for conferences, nor such terrible and inept responses to a problem that was their own creation. I am very disappointed in their refusal to respond to my email.

  • Check in staff was very nice. Our bathroom was very dirty. Mold was on caulking behind the faucet. The corners of the bathroom looked like they had never been cleaned. Housekeeping did not empty trash one of the days. The hair dryer was broken. I left a note to have it replaced for housekeeping. They took it but I had to call down to desk to have a new one brought up to the room along with coffee and sugar and creamer that housekeeping failed to replace. The bathroom has a frosted glass sliding door. It is not very private. I found this very uncomfortable. There is also no exhaust fan in the bathroom. Strangely, the towels are stored on a rack INSIDE of the shower. There were two pieces of pink paper on carpet in front of our door. It was never vacuumed or picked up during our 4 day stay. The bed was not very comfortable. It was lumpy and my side was sunken in. I would not recommend this hotel until they give it a thorough top to bottom cleaning.
