Friendly staff, clean rooms that are larger than you'd expect for NYC. Elevator wait is very long at peak times but with only 3, no surprise so plan your day accordingly. Starbucks is one block south. Duane Reed is on the north end of the same block next to LOVE. Halal Guys is one block south. Central Park is a few blocks North. Basically lots of stuff is nearby so location is great. All of this is why we keep coming back here.
Traveler BEWARE! It saddens me to post this negative review but alas, I don't have any other options. I visited this hotel on 11/30 and had drinks. I was charged for the drinks around 12/4 (once the charge processed). On June 6th, I was charged again for the same drinks. Twice charged and six months apart. I've called 6 times and emailed 4 times with no resolution. It sounds like a travelers scam to me. I've now had to lean on my bank to refund the charges. BEWARE! Or use cash when there.
good location, fairly clean upon our arrival they did not really welcome us, but tried to make us pay more, before they would give us a room. We had paid for 3 beds 6 nights quite some weeks in advance. The pregnant lady at the reception desk was trying to milk us for cash upon arrival for the third bed and gave us a room with only a double bed. We felt like we were at her mercy and the first night was awful. At one point my daughter had gotten a bed pushed into our room, but that was not comfrotable at all. We felt like we were staying in a youth hostel, when we were awakened by cursing housekeeping (screaming swear words) right in front of our door. We did get a slightly bigger room eventually, but after all it was what we paid for. In this room you could smell the cigarette smoke of either guest or stuff in the bathroom several times a day. I don't remember a friendly encounter with staff, except for one man in houskeeping on floor 14. I am not going back.
Great location to explore central Park and Manhattan. Friendly staff, good bar. Some of the rooms haven't been refurbished for some time but are very comfortable and clean
Want to leave 2 days into my stay! OMG, have the positive reviewers previously stayed in caves. Even most 2 or 3 star hotels have better rooms and customer service. Its all very old and very expensive.... Bathroom is small and very dated. Cleanliness is poor.... Today, after the room had been cleaned, I found a large hair on it. Looked for the kettle to have some tea, they don't have one! Called reception, they said it wasn't standard. If you are used to good European hotels stay away.
