The restored Slotsmollen or the castle mill owned by the Aabenraa City Historical Society looks something from the pastoral novella with its red tiled roof and whitewashed walls. The mill has two quarries of which one is fully functional. The Slotsmollen is refurbished every year to offer it for reservation for social or private events. The Christmas Room and the Mill house are also open to the public; a cafeteria set up in the Mill House is run by local volunteers and offers tea, coffee and cakes. The mill acts as a living museum exhibiting the history of the castle and the mills.
