Someone put a lot of thought into building this museum and it paid off big time. The construct is massive – ten stories tall, 17000 square metres – one of the largest art museums in Europe. Approaching it you’ll see the 150 metre long Rainbow Panorama – the circular skywalk that rests like a crown on the building.
There are three permanent collections: The Danish "Golden Age" , Danish Modernism and Contemporary Art. But that’s not the true curiosity of this museum. That honor goes to the 9 Spaces – an installation art gallery that represents the nine circles of hell from Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy – meaning as you rise up the museum – you’re ascending from hell to haloed heaven.
The $10.7 million skywalk itself is rainbow coloured, so as you look out from it, different sections of Aarhus are colored differently.
As of 103, the museum receives half a million visitors annually.

Aros Aarhus Kunstmuesum, Aarhus Reviews - Write a Review
ARoS is a museum full of strange, funny, & pretty Art work. There are lots of things to see and do. I do recommend it if you have some spare time on your hands. Just pop in and have a look around at the wonderful art. It takes around 2 hours 15 minutes to explore the whole building.
A very fancy building with modern art and the famouse coloured ring at the top. It is cool to go there, have a coffee and walk through the museum, but for my opinion the prices are a bit overpriced compared to the attractions. It is a great atmosphere, dont get me wrong, but I would expect more "modern art" and stunning things. Recommendation: Get a coffee in the foyer, relax and enjoy the fancy atmosphere
If you are not an art enthusiast go there for the panorama view and get a glimpse of the city. The breakfast is really nice as well. The experience varies based on what exhibitions are on display - sometimes you can spend a few hours in the museum and other times a quick panorama tour is enough.
One of my favourite museums in the world! Go first to the top floor for the "Your rainbow panorama" experience and see the city through different kinds of lights and see how the colours affect you.
Interesting structure at the top: a 360° panorama walking platform with rainbow colored walls. Different contemporary exhibitions on each floor
