Someone put a lot of thought into building this museum and it paid off big time. The construct is massive – ten stories tall, 17000 square metres – one of the largest art museums in Europe. Approaching it you’ll see the 150 metre long Rainbow Panorama – the circular skywalk that rests like a crown on the building.
There are three permanent collections: The Danish "Golden Age" , Danish Modernism and Contemporary Art. But that’s not the true curiosity of this museum. That honor goes to the 9 Spaces – an installation art gallery that represents the nine circles of hell from Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy – meaning as you rise up the museum – you’re ascending from hell to haloed heaven.
The $10.7 million skywalk itself is rainbow coloured, so as you look out from it, different sections of Aarhus are colored differently.
As of 103, the museum receives half a million visitors annually.

Have been at ARoS several times and never been disappointed. My wife and I visit every time we are in Aarhus as they usually have a great new exhibition. The cafeteria is not much to write home about but they also have a real restaurant at the top level - will recommend that you eat there. ARoS is also close to the City Centre of Aarhus and will be a great break from the shopping.
Very large art museum that I recommend anyone visiting Aarhus go to see. There are at least five floors worth of exhibits, with the rainbow panorama (which has an amazing view of the city) topping it off. There is also a nice outside area just below the rainbow panorama with lounges.
Very cool and interesting exhibitions. The Highlight is the rainbow panorama on the roof. Spectacular view of Aarhus with real life filters! Highly recommend to visit, when you are staying there.
Very much worth its money. Exhibitions on eight floors, all interesting even to people without any experience with arts. My favourite was the first floors illusionary rooms and the rainbow panorama, which is already worth the entrance fee by itself.
There was a very interesting audio-visual experience in the basement. I loved the building and the rainbow hallway on top of it. The colored view of the city is very interesting
