Dating back to 1030, the castle still preserves its rich history in every corner of the building. Step inside the castle and you can see some Scottish painted ceilings which date back from 1592 and 1597. Other highlighted features of the castle are the bedchamber of Mary Queen of Scots, Victorian clothes, paintings and finely crafted furniture. Check the turnpike stairs of castle which is said to be the widest one in Britain.
