Louvre Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Reviews
Even if you're not an art lover, you can at least go to appreciate the design of the building. That on its own is a piece of art. I really like how each hall is not crowded with work because now I can spend more time looking at each piece. The minimalistic design is refreshing and a stark contrast from the classic design of the Louvre in Paris. Both are worth visiting. Also, ages 21 and under get their ticket half price which is great for families and students.
Brand new louvre with stunning architecture. It isn’t far out of the main business district. The selected works show the progression of different human art/culture chronologically. If you get there early around opening time you will have the exterior space under the dome to yourself! There are a good amount of masterpieces here. The price to enter is about 25$ but it’s worth it. You don’t need an audio guide if you can speak English, French, or Arabic. There are descriptions for all art works.
A very well structured museum with good collection of monuments and pieces of art. It's a big museum with 12 galleries, each on different subject hence you should plan to spend at least 3 hours in the museum. Surroundings of museum is also beautiful and sunset time should be spent outside the museum, so you should plan your trip accordingly. Overall a very good experience and you should visit even if you don't have taste for arts or history.
For someone who enjoys art, they will find a few pieces that will awe them. In general though, the way the museum is curated is a little annoying. Some sculptures are nowhere near their descriptions, and it had many works of art that were mere replicas of originals. The building and architecture is just breathtaking... So intricate and beautiful, you find yourself wanting to look up at all times. For something so new, it is still great, it will grow into it potential in a few years for sure.
I really liked the museum it’s beautifully designed and organized. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. You can book a tour or buy the multimedia guide. If you like museums you can spend approximately 3 to 4 hours at least in this one. The layout is very well designed and all the descriptions are clearly displayed next to the artifacts. I don’t advise you get the multimedia guide as all the information is clearly displayed and there’s only a limited amount of information that you can retain. However if your visiting the museum and don’t have a lot of time to spend the multimedia guide has designed tours that will take you through the museum and show you the pieces that are of importance. There is a famous painting by Van Gogh as well
