Influenced by the sand landscape of the country, the UAE Pavilion was designed for the World Expo Shanghai in 2010. With a height of 23 meters, the structure has the roof surface of six thousand square metres. The two sand dune structures are parallel with each other. The windward side of UAE Pavilion is curvaceous and smooth and glistens like molten gold in sunlight while the eroded side on the other hand is rippled. The place attracts huge visitors during the Abu Dhabi Contemporary Art Fair. The building features a mezzanine level and a ground level as well as a performance venue and an exhibit space.
