Overview of Ethnological Museum

The Ethnological Museum is in the Addis Ababa University, in a palace formerly owned by Haile Selassie. While very few people consider museums in their to-do list while visiting Africa, what with the famous safaris and beaches, this museum is an exception and must be included in your itinerary. Culture and traditions of different Ethiopian tribes are illustrated and explained through posters, tombstones, sculptures and paintings. Next, the royal family’s bedrooms and bathrooms display the royal furnishings. Historical paintings, old traditional musical instruments, vessels and depiction of the evolution of currency is also part of this collection.
