Adelaide Zoo - Review
Adelaide Zoo was founded in 1883 and is the second oldest zoo in Australia. It is home to over 1800 animals from over 300 species. The zoo is set among 20 acres of natural green space. The highlight of the zoo is the Giant Panda Exhibit, which, opened in 2009, and houses two adorable Giant Pandas, Wang Wang and Funi. There are several other exhibits with animals from Australia and around the world including rare and endangered species. The Westpac Envirodome, an interactive visitor centre has all kinds of interesting and informative displays including a gravity defying vertical garden, several insects, reptiles and rare aquatic animals. The Children’s Zoo is a great place to interact with over a hundred animals. You can get really close and even pet animals like kangaroos, wallabies, cows, deer, rabbits and many more. A fun place to visit, the Adelaide Zoo is ideal for animal lovers and families with children.

Adelaide Zoo, Adelaide Reviews
Staff were exceptional. Big play area for children. Got there around feeding time, so many of the animals were active. Many well loved & cared for creatures - not just used to, but comfortable with human presence. Baby gibbon is getting bigger, baby tortoises were adorable. Red tailed black cockatoo was a ball of love. Butterfly garden was covered in butterflies. Took peripheral part in several "keeper talk" events; great sessions explaining what goes on, the biology & environmental focus of the animals. Free public transport (route 98/99) stops immediately in front of the entrance walkway. Grounds were clean & well maintained. Food prices were rather steep (~$4 bottle of still water). Security is decent, maintains customer privacy well. If you plan on going more than once, yearly memberships are an excellent option.
It was a cute experience. My son wanted to see the Pandas so he did, plus a heap of other cool animals. Well worth a look, especially those with young kids
Adelaide Zoo This Zoo is one great attraction: The animals have a friendly vibe. Every visit brings smiles as the walking trails lead you around so many different directions. The large enclosures are great for the animals, who look well fed, their enclosures cleaned daily. I always enjoy a visit to Adelaide Zoo.
A lovely day out with the family. I would like to have a couple more spaces under cover as it was raining. We couldn't go to the rotunda as the clear blinds were down with a sign saying closed for private function, but appeared empty. This would have been a nice spot to get out of the rain. Overall a lovely day.
Loving using our family Christmas gift of annual passes to the zoo. It allows us to visit on the spur of the moment for a couple hours without feeling pressured to stay all day to get our entry fee worth. Last time we went it was a very chilly 11 degree day, and all the animals were out & about finding rays of sunlight to bask in, & not hiding from the heat
