Built in the 1200s, Monastero Santo Spirito is the most exquisite monastery with stunning stucco designs. Stepping into the monastery, every inch of it is breathtaking. The Great Abby, the heavenly courtyard and the ornate windows are equally magnificent. The architectural simplicity of the structure is in complete contrast with the complex intricate artwork of the interiors. Artist Giacomo Serpotta contributed grandly with his stucco art pieces. The most beautiful ones are those depicting Jesus in various scenes, like the Nativity, the Adoration of the Magi and the Flight into Egypt.
