About Ambapur Stepwell, Ahmedabad
There was a time when step wells were part of the household system in the city. The water of these wells, dug deep in the ground, was accessible by steps that were built alongside it, providing it with its name. Today, though the culture has ended, you can still witness such step wells in many homes and some public areas of the city. Among all, Ambapur Stepwell is a much recognised one and popular tourist destination. The place was established in 15th century by Queen Rudabai Vaghela and boasts of a beautiful amalgamation of Indian and Islamic architecture. Built as a resting place for folks, the Vav as it is locally called has intricate carvings throughout the structure. You can come here to admire its engineering, beauty and designs that will literally take you back in times. For those with an affinity for history, will surely like it here.

Ambapur Stepwell, Ahmedabad Reviews
Just 24 kms from Ahmedabad is this historical Vav that is awaiting for its well wishers. So of you love vavs, visit this less frequented place and see for yourself the magnificent sculptures and designs. Villagers are struggling hard for upk3 but plastic waste and plas3 fools and packages are littered on each floor and space literally everywhere in vav. Ignore all these and look for the finer points in this vav. Parking free, photography free, time free, are you free? Enjoy.
Very nice carving. Beautiful step well. But very dirty. Archeology department of Gujarat should take care of it. Or the Gram panchayat of ambapur village should take care and clean up the place.
Good archaeological place. But dirty. Not well maintained
