Sidi Saiyyed Mosque - Review
This is one of the finest mosques in Gujarat and in the whole country as well. This mosque is famous especially for its mesh designs intricately done on the 10 large windows. This mosque was established by a slave of Sultan Ahmed Shah, named SidiSaiyad and thus, it was named after him.
This mosque is located near the famous LalDarwaza in Ahmedabad and was constructed long time ago in the year 1573. The monument is famous worldwide for its splendid architecture and interior designing. The front wall is carved with pretty miniature geometric patterns and also has many floral motifs on the wall. Since, it was a monument of the Mughal period, so obviously has the traditional essence of the designs. The two parts jutting out from the center have stone slabs with beautiful carvings of crawling trees and also an exclusive palm tree. This lattice work is the unofficial symbol of the culture of Ahmedabad and also the inspiration behind the Institute of Management in Ahmedabad.
The central window of the arch is not as beautiful as the other parts and seems to be completed in a hurry. It shows the decline of the Mughal Empire at this time and the invasion of other clans into this region.

Such a amazing art the people have made over here. This is the heart of the art a very creative and innovative small design made by the people when there is instruments to size cut or any other things it's seriously mind-blowing for the people who are interested in art ......this is why ahemdabad is a historical city
Quite shocked to see the mosque. The mosque definitely doesn't feel like one in terms of the architecture. Don't miss the jaali patterns on the wall. The jaalis also inspired the logo of IIM-A.
Beautiful heritage site located in the heart of the city. You will find absolute peace in this place. And the ancient jali work is exceptional and unique.
