Perched a little away, mere 40 km, from the city of Ahmedabad lies the famous Thol Lake Bird Sanctuary which had been known from a prominent draw for visitors in the city. The place is sprawled over an area of 7 sq kms and has been a constant intrigue for nature lovers, especially those who have a keen interesting in bird watching and bird life. The lake is also known for being a scenic beauty, owing to its fresh and sweet water and lush surrounding. Perfect for a picture of two! There are more than 100 species of birds including beautiful flamingos, geese, herons, whistling teals and sarus crane in the sanctuary which you can easily witness coming here on a fine sunny morning. Monsoons are the best time for visits, considering the weather is often sublime during this period and a long drive with family and friends becomes an ideal thing to do here.
