Trust. The motive behind this museum was to focus on the rare craftsmanship skills of the rural people of India. It is always seen that the focus of people goes first on historical sites or else amusement sites which does not leave behind any recognition for the artists surviving in the rural areas. This museum houses and exhibits variety of such art works by the local artists, which reflect their love for the work in each piece.
This museum has a vast collection of utensils, especially metal ones from ages ago. The metal type varies from brass, copper, bronze, zinc to German silver. These are kept in an organized way here just according to what purpose they were used for.
Some were used for fetching milk, some for storing water, the others for storing ornaments, travelling, worship and the list goes on. Most of these creations are from the southern part of India. Russian jugs in all shapes and sizes increase the charm of the collection even more.
Some of the objects here can leave you awestruck here with the expert logic behind the idea of the utensil and its design. One example of such brilliance is the milk pot here that wobbles when you touch it but will never fall town or tumble. There is also the travelling glass that can be made big or small.
The most amazing fact is that the people even hundreds of years ago had so much practical sense which is seriously commendable, given the low development of that time. Another amazing fact is that all these utensils are hand-made as there were no machines at that time and the people did not even have any technical knowledge of craftsmanship. This is simply the natural talent that cannot be restricted by anything from money, education or distance.
