One of the most magnetic ornamental structures in Aix-en-Provence, Pavillion de Vendome was built on the orders of the Duke of Vendome- Louis Mercoeur to house his love affair with Lucretia de Forbin Sollies.
The building is surrounded with a beautiful French garden and the main facades are decorated with classical Baroque atlantes, sculpted fruit garlands and a mask that is said the feature the Lucretia de Forbin Solliès fondly known as Belle du Canet.
There are also numerous portraits belonging to the 17th and 18th century and Provencal furniture housed in the structure. The structure now stands as an art gallery and there are modern and contemporary art exhibitions time to time.

Such a pretty place to hang out in aix en provence, when we went it was still summer and there were a few people hanging out, I'm not sure if it's open the whole year but the garden was really beautiful. Worth it if you just are just wondering and would like a romantic fairy tale place. The building was closed but the gardens were totally worth it. Very classy French style.
The builiding has a handful of rooms on show. Well kept and includes an audio guide. The exhibition was Picasso and there were a great many paintings to enjoy. The grounds are well kept though WC facilities are lacking. Friendly staff at the door. Would reccomend as part of visiting Aix.
Very missable. Only 5 or 6 minimally adorned rooms.
It’s really nice to hold the wedding here!
Beautiful place but the most boring and useless musee
