Rangji Temple - Review
The original temple of Lord Rangji dates back to the year 1823. It was built by Seth Puran Mal Ganeriwal in Hyderabad. Lord Rangji is said to be an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The temple in Ajmer is called the New Rangji Temple as this was built later on.
The temple is very different from all other temples in Rajasthan in its architecture and design. This is completely inspired from the Dravidian styles of architecture. The reason for this maybe the original temple that is located in South India. There are still some instants of Mughal style architecture in some parts of the temple.
There is a tall gopuram or entrance gateway just like the temples of South India and to greet you at the gateway are the majestic statues of two gatekeepers. The prime deity of this temple is Garuda, the mount of Lord Vishnu and also said to be his incarnation. The beautiful idol of Lord Garuda is placed beautifully inside the temple.
This place is a popular tourist attraction not only for people from other states, but also from Rajasthan.
