Albany has a Mediterranean climate with mild summers and cool, wet winters. The city is cooled by breezes from the south and you can expect summer temperatures of more or less 27 C in the day. In winter the daytime temperature is about 18 C. Visitors can enjoy Albany's cool, temperate climate for the majority of the year.

Albany can be quite cold in winter when the wind blows directly off the ocean. If you want to see wildflowers, go some time spring and early summer (September to December). If your trip to Albany is all about whale watching then visit between July and October. Summer (December to February) is when a lot of Australians go on holiday, so the area can be quite busy - if you hate crowds, rather avoid the peak season.
