Bluff Knoll, Albany Reviews
The climb was not easy - 3km walk and climb to 1km above sea level. It took us a big group of 9 about 3 hours to get to the peak. There is many scenic view along the way up. It is worth the walk and climb at times but I won't do it the second time. It was unfortunate as we were there on a day where the weather was bad. It was cloudy and rainy. We were all disappoint as we reach the peak because it was a blank of white. Can't even see beyond 5 metres. The brightest time was after we have descended to the car park. What a joke right? So please if you can, go on a sunny day.
A world class location with an excellent easily followed, well made track to the summit. The views are well worth the climb! Take plenty of water, some snacks, and choose comfortable footwear with gripping power to avoid slips (boots that can provide some ankle support would be perfect). Check the weather, and dress appropriately (the best would be to carry a light rucksack with a few extra items of clothing and your supplies - a rewarding hot beverage from a thermos flask would not go amiss either). It gets windy and cold up there, especially around half way up, where for a short way the trail leaves the bush and walkers are exposed to the elements.
A fantastic walk, not to be missed if you're in the area or nearby. Indeed you will find it pretty tough if you don't have a moderate level of fitness. Views are well worth it though and a proper sense of achievement once you reach the top.
Took us two hours to get up and had sore legs the next couple days. Path/steps in good condition. Stayed at the top for 1 hour, just admiring the landscape. Loved it. Will come back in Spring for the wildflowers.
Good climbing, you have to be fit. Legs ached for 4 days! Ouch! All well worth it.
