The original San Felipe de Neri Parish was started in 1706, but with time, a lot of changes happened during civil wars and eventually, the current building assumed the role of this church in 1881. In those times, this church was considered to be a very elaborate building with two floors, a portico around the inner courtyard and a 30-foot porch. Gradually, another floor was added, and the interior was repainted. You will be enchanted by its tin roof structure with a decorative gable above the front door. In addition to regular prayer services, this church is actively involved in community programs. A visit to San Felipe de Neri Parish will take you through the church’s historical journey.

San Felipe De Neri Parish Reviews & Ratings
I came for the Balloon Fiesta and was lucky enough to attend Mass in the oldest church in the state. It was very cool in a hot afternoon. The most was nice and all the people were welcoming and kind. I know God was there and peace was in my heart.
Absolutely beautiful. When you walk into this historic place of worship you get a sense of culture. You can smell the incense and myrrh and almost here the ohm of the priest. Are regardless of religious affiliation, you'll enjoy this absolutely beautiful place of worship.
I visited this historical beauty about 4 years ago and was stunned by its stillness and the holy atmosphere. However, since then there has been an obnoxious recording that plays explaining the history of the church. This severely reduced the sacred feel of the church. Please, please reconsider the speakers and audio message. It eliminates the feeling of authenticity and holiness.
It is such a beautiful church. And once done praying there is the Old Town chill atmosphere to have a good time.
I've been a member of the parish at San Felipe de Neri church since 2009. I've gone to many of the Catholic Churches in town and this is my favorite. I love the history of the church, some of the other churches are a bit too modern for my tastes. The pastoral staff are very nice and friendly and have been there to support my family when we have needed them. There are also a lot of fun activities throughout the year like several fiestas and other events during the holidays that the church organizes.
