Great things come in small packages, should be the USP of the Alice Springs Reptile Centre. Although not too large, the Reptile Centre sure knows its reptiles. If you’re a reptile lover, this place will feature in your top favourite places; if you aren’t, a visit here is sure to change that- partially if not wholly. Not only do you get to see over 100 reptiles in their landscaped natural habitat, there are daily shows conducted where you can pet a lizard or wear a python around your neck. Gecko caves and Terry, the 3.3 meter long saltwater crocodile provide some excellent photo-op moments.

  • The daily show timings are 11:00 am, 1:00 pm and 3:30 pm.

  • Greyhound Australia
  • Bath Street

  • The Teashrine (vegetarian food served)
  • The Overlanders Steakhouse (steakhouse)
  • Piccolo's (café)

  • Fabulous, enthusiastic and passionate staff. I learned much from this visit. The guide was able to weave her great sense of humour into her talk. She is as knowledgeable about her reptile friends and very clear about how to keep ourselves safe in the wild! Brilliant!

  • A very interesting reptile park. Our guide gave us a hands on commentary about all the reptiles. There was a great display of lizards and snakes. Also a close encounter with a crocodile. Well worth a visit.

  • Whilst the reptile centre looks small it's packed with heaps of exhibits. There are a few reptile shows through the day that are worth attending as the staff pass some of the reptiles and a python around to hold. Seeing Terry the crocodile up so close was a real highlight for us all. One of the most impressive things was how clean the enclosures were- the staff obviously look after their animals! This is a must do on your visit to Alice.

  • Amazing! I got to hold an olive snake called Barry and two lizards. Was there a little over an hour; and he owner gave an interesting and informative talk about the animals in the outback as well as how not to die via snake. Good to see these reptiles up close. Very helpful.

  • A very enthusiastic and knowledgeable young woman who clearly loves her work, gives a most enjoyable presentation. Thank you Reyne.
