Marisma del Burro is a nature reserve that is spread across an area of 597 hectares and is situated within Marismas del Odiel right at the confluence of Burro Chico pipe and Carlota estuary with the Odiel river. The reserve is rich in flora and fauna and the vegetation that can be found here majorly is marsh with elements including reeds, cattails, and tamarins. Plant species that you can find here include sarcocornia perennis, spartina maritime, Halimione portulacoides, salicornia ramossisima and much more. The fauna here most importantly consists of birds and ray heron, spoonbills, and storks can be found in a majority. Marisma del Burro is a jewel of nature and reflects the area’s biodiversity.
