About Minto Park, Allahabad
It is a beautiful park located on the banks of River Yamuna, near the Saraswati Ghat. The beauty and the historical importance of the park draw a large number of tourists from all over India and also from abroad. It was here that Earl Canning read out the proclamation of Queen Victoria in 1858, which stated that the control over India by the East India Company would be completely transferred to the government of Britain. This declaration was made as a precaution after the Sepoy Mutiny in 1857. The British government felt that one of the reasons for the mutiny was the ever evident corruption in the East India Company. This changed India into a colony of the British government, and 52 years after this declaration, in 1910, the foundation stone for the park was laid by Lord Minto, who was the Governor General then. The park came to be known after him.
The entrance of the park is very impressive with a large gate and two pillars on either side. The park is well maintained with plants and tall trees. There are also gardens with beautiful flowers that charm the visitors. If you would like to have an evening walk or a jog in the morning, this is the right place. Many people come with family to spend their time here. Children love playing here and at evening time you can see a lot of children here with their parents.
The white stone memorial, on which are mounted four fierce looking sculptures of lions, is another attraction in the park which is placed on the site where Lord Canning read the declaration. It is a tall structure and is visible from far. It has a platform on which is a long pillar. On top of the pillar are the four lions facing back to back in all the four directions.
Every morning and evening the park is busy with people and kids engaged in various activities. It is one of the busy places in the city and a visit to the pace is sure to fill you with fresh energy.

Minto Park, Allahabad Reviews
Small park for spending time with your family, but very much creatively used the spot and space. They even have their own boat park. Very well done with the side view of Yamuna river.
It's a very very beautiful and neat and clean park in which the children can play their favourite games and the adults can do their meditation and their regular exercises too.... It's a great place from a photography point of view also... It also has boat rides , but it's for only children who are below 12 years...
This park is situated at the side of ganga river. This is good place for walking. Here are so many trees. This place is very beautiful.
This is awesome place to wander with your beloved, beggars are only problem here. No-one disturbs you. It's a government place so there is no problem of vandalism. There is a shop where you can buy stuff on a reasonable price. Many types of trees are there in this park. This is a green patch of Allahabad. But there is no service of bike parking. You should be aware about your vehicle.
Good for walk..A single full round is about 10 mins...For kids they have few swings....
