The Royal Library Garden brings back the romance of the bygone era and is one of the most tranquil pockets around Copenhagen. Take a walk around to see the shallow water elements, gorgeous flowers and the famous sculpture of Kierkegaard placed here in 1918.

The beautiful fountain with a 8-metre high pillar placed here was gifted by the New Carlsberg Foundation in 1999 and is one of the highlights of the place along with the mirror basin and old mooring rings that date back to the 16th and 17th century. Today, the garden is nothing short of a walk in history with its hidden area being very scarcely crowded, gives you the perfect place to spend some quiet time. Sit on one of the many benches placed underneath the shades of trees and see  a part of Copenhagen that cherishes its history and nature.

  • Copenhagen is just so beautiful. Everywhere you walk there is something to see or do. We passed by these gardens on the way to the city centre and saw people walking their dogs / having breakfast.

  • Definitely worth finding this hidden garden behind the library. Off the Beaten Track as you pass through christiansborg Palace. Nice quiet place in the middle of the city

  • Nice little park that is worth it to walk over from the main palace area. Small pond with a little path around it.

  • One of my favourite spots in the city. Very peaceful with the sound of the fountain in the background. Lovely in the summer with all the flowers.

  • Beautifull somewhat hidden gem that offers you peace and tranquility from the otherwise busteling city
