The Royal Library Garden brings back the romance of the bygone era and is one of the most tranquil pockets around Copenhagen. Take a walk around to see the shallow water elements, gorgeous flowers and the famous sculpture of Kierkegaard placed here in 1918.

The beautiful fountain with a 8-metre high pillar placed here was gifted by the New Carlsberg Foundation in 1999 and is one of the highlights of the place along with the mirror basin and old mooring rings that date back to the 16th and 17th century. Today, the garden is nothing short of a walk in history with its hidden area being very scarcely crowded, gives you the perfect place to spend some quiet time. Sit on one of the many benches placed underneath the shades of trees and see  a part of Copenhagen that cherishes its history and nature.

  • Found this place on accident, happened to peep down a passage/door way as we passed through a court yard. Extremely beautiful and peaceful garden. Well worth a visit even if it’s just to sit for 5 minutes. Also leads to the library which is well worth a visit.

  • Very beautiful and elegant garden with many flowers, located at the Royal library. There is also a beautiful fountain, a couple of memorial statues, and a cafe shop. Peaceful place when many tourist are not visiting it at the same time. Many nice spots for memorial photos.

  • A very peaceful and beautiful garden that is not run over by tourists. The garden is in a yard, so there is almost no noice from traffic. Ideal place to enjoy a cup of coffee or an ice cream.

  • An oasis in the city. Seldom crowded. Nice place to relax and read a book. Not really much to see.

  • The garden of the Royal library is small but quite beautiful and peaceful. Well, it used to be. If not the Pokémon stop has been removed you'll fight for your park bench or other place to sit. Nevertheless the park is well worth a visit with lots of things to experience nearby. The library, of course, but also the Jewish museum is very interesting.
