Nestled amidst the wooded mountain valley, Medeu is a well-known outdoor skating rink which is noted for its fantastic location and for the Olympic-sized skating rink which is the highest in the world. The rink consists of 10, 500 square metres of ice and was regarded as one of the top speed racing rink right from the time it was opened. In the year 1972, the rink transitioned to artificial ice from natural ice and the unique ice freezing system is still being used. People who are neither professional players of bandy or Olympians can still enjoy a recreational skate at Medeu and enjoy the panoramic views.
