Rancho Seco Recreational Park is literally a recreational hub with the activities like camping, fishing, hiking, swimming, canoeing and other water activities like kayaking and wind surfing. There are twenty camping locations sprawled around this park, each having picnic table and barbeque pit. RV Camping is available at 18 locations. Six docks are there for fishing or boating. Trout, Largemouth Bass, Crappie, Bluegill and Catfish are found in abundance. Fishing tournaments are organized here twice a year. The Howard Ranch Trail with the seasonal vernal pools is wonderful. American Spadefoot Toad and Tiger Salamanders have their habitats here. Amanda Blake Wildlife Refuge exhibits some of the exotic animals. There are raccoons, great blue herons, ducks and geese, bald eagles and hawks living in natural habitat.
