Expect most of the festivals and events here to be of spiritual and religious significance. Shiv Chaturdashi is one of the most important festival/event here, where all sadhus from all parts of India gather to take part in the festivities. It’s observed on the 14th Lunar day of the moon fortnight. The Narmada Jayanti is another festival you must experience, planning a trip to Amarkantak. It is the most important festival of the town, and celebrated in January around Makar Sankranti, revelling the birth day or the appearance of Narmada River (Maa Narmada) on Earth.
