Gabbar or Gabbargadh Hill is believed to have been the abode of the Goddess Ambaji who killed the demon Mahishasur. The legend also goes that it was the site where Lord Krishna had the ritual head-shaving ceremony. The mythologies the reason people visit this holy abode. The hill is really steep and difficult to climb. After 300 steps, the pilgrims have to climb through a narrow passage. On the flat top of the hill, you will find a small niche facing the Ambaji Temple. A well-protected lamp is constantly kept burning and at night you can see the flickering lamp even from distance.
