We really really liked the museum. It is located in the house where Champollion was born, on many floors you discover the history of humans and writing. There is a part of Egypt and egyptology, that we fancied the most. And as a bonus, when you are getting tired of the museum, you finish on the highest floor where you have a great view on the square. Dont forget to take the tiny road juste next to the house to see the huge Rosetta stone made on the ground, and some papyrus in the little park.
The most boring place I have ever been ..........but that's just me😂!...You might love it!
Needs more explanation in English, perhaps. Interesting museum
A place everybody has to know
Nice museum though a little difficult if you don't read french well as most of the info is text based. There are a few Egyptian artifacts on the ground floor but as you go up the building the exhibits are more and more just consisting of photos on the walls! If your mainly concerned with seeing the large stone reproduction & gardens featured in the advertising, they are view-able for free accessed by going down the passage to the left of the museum building.
