Amersfoortse Kei is a huge boulder that is two metres tall and weighs 7157 kilograms. According to a folktale, Jonkheer Everhard Meyster discovered a boulder and bet with friends that he could actually enough people to drag the rocks inside the city walls. With help of lots of beer and fresh pretzels and of course, enthusiasm, Amersfoorters pulled the boulder brought it to the city. Later, when they realised that it was completely pointless, it was buried however, the later generation saw it as a symbol of pride and dug up the boulder again which was placed on a pedestal. Upon visiting, you would get to observe Amersfoortse Kei and appreciate the rich history it has associated with it.
