Maison De Jules Verne - Review
One of the most prolific author of the 19th century Jules Verne, spent the last several years of his life here. He moved in here with his wife Honorine in 1882. Everything in house is kept intact as it was then till now. The garden, the living room, the smoke room, the music room and his personal attic, study room their walls, decor all have the antique vibe to it. They are arranged and well-kept so as to take you through Verne’s memories. He has written many of his classic novels including ‘Around the World in 80 days’ here. There’s also a dining area here whose food comes highly recommended.

Maison De Jules Verne, Amiens Reviews
Interesting place to visit if you have an interest in Jules Verne's life and work. We were using English audioguides which worked well although I did not listen to some of the later room guides as it was taking too long to listen to the narrative without gaining too much extra info unless you were super interested in JV and his editor's working relationship.
Do not expect something very spectacular but it is very interesting to visit with furniture, figures and esthetic of the time
I would love to be able to properly review this place but we were denied entry to this place as we arrived 40 minutes before the place closed, not for the day, but for lunch!!!! We were on our way back to Calais to get the ferry and thought this would make a fantastic side trip and so headed to Amiens. Parked right outside and thought the place looked amazing. Asked for a ticket but were told they would be closing for lunch soon and we didn’t have enough time to properly visit the place so come back after. This was impossible for us as we had a ferry to catch so I was very disappointed that no flexibility could be shown but that the place would close for lunch on a Saturday, when you would expect it to be the busiest. Also the shop has no English books at all, yes I know it is France and they speak French but as an amazing author one would have hoped they would want to promote his works as widely as possible. Shame we missed it, I’m sure it is great but I won’t be back on principle for the treatment that was given to us.
Unexpected treasure in the centre of Amien. We went to visit the Cathedral, and we found out about Jules Verne's house by coincidence. A small museum in the big house where Verne and his family used to live. The collection is impressive for a small museum. It is worth visiting while you are around Amien.
As an admirer I liked the house but part of exhibition is for a publisher. For the price you have to pay I expected more. Also the signs to the house stop as you are almost there and we found it by accident because knew house had a little tower.
