Known as the ‘little Venice of the North’ St Leu is known for its famous restaurants and old facades with canals running through. Along with the canals it’s criss-crossed with streets that are lined up with colourful facades on either sides. Once a quite industrial area it still retains some of its essence. There are many craft shops, coffee houses, restaurants that decorate the area. Amidst the heart of this lies the church Eglise St. Leu. A 15th century church with brilliant stained glass windows and a marvellous Bell tower. The church is said to be carved both internally and externally from stone making it one of the oldest, rarest and well preserved churches in northern France.
