  • Surprisingly well-preserved. It’s really impressive when you realize it’s actually carved and cut out of the solid rock!

  • A beautiful amphitheater carved right from the mountain rock. It's a little different from the other ancient theaters in Jordan because of its (grand) setting and the play of colors throughout the day - pinkish red in the morning, dirty red in the afternoon and brownish in the early evening. It's surrounded by a lot of small Nabatean tombs, affirming that it's a part of Petra. The panoramic views of this place from the trek to the Treasury Viewpoint are also spectacular.

  • Another amazing stop in Petra. The whole experience is worth doing.

  • Hard to believe that it was hand made ~2k years ago :)

  • Totally amazing how they were able to carve the theatre out of sandstone!
