You will be delighted by paying a visit to the Amphawa Floating Market. The very market is not a mere shopping destination but an excellent tourist spot as well. You will be astonished to see how effortlessly a lot of vendors sell loads of different things by keeping their sellable goods on boats on the surface of a canal. The place offers mainly traditional items which tourists buy as souvenirs. Traditional apparels, bags, handicrafts and exclusive gift items can be bought from this market at truly affordable rates. You will find many vendors sitting on the wooden boats and selling traditional seafood platters at cheap rates here. The Amphawa Floating Market can be visited daily from 2 PM to 10 PM.

  • Amphawa floating market is a great place to go nearby of Bangkok. Crowded place, delicious food. You got to experience the food that are cooking on the floating boat, it is an awesome experience. The shopping experience also is fine, I guess I found more varieties than at Wang Lang Market. Try it.

  • Beautiful place. If you arrive here right before midday (around 11:40am) you could enjoy some peace and quiet, before the place gets crowded. Probably the best market experience we had in Bangkok.

  • If you are like me and don’t like busy places, just walk along the river until you reach the less touristic area. Most boats are too expensive and you should always try to bargain a decent price. The market is not expensive and you can enjoy local street food with the nice views of the rivers and their boats. You can spot huge lizards.

  • Amphawa floating market, around 2h far from Bangkok. It's nice to walk around and try many local Thai food along the river side. Good for a day trip

  • Absolutely love it. Though it's a bit far from Bangkok, we took a taxi to go and took a mini van coming back. We were originally planning to go a different floating market, but our taxi driver said Amphawa is the original, others close to Bangkok are copycats. So we did. Turned out Amphawa is amazing. We also took a boat ride around, it was nice too.
