Durgiana Temple - Review

Taking architectural inspiration from the Golden Temple, the Durgiana Temple is located in the heart of Amritsar. Built in the 16th century, the temple is dedicated to Goddess Durga and is rather popular within the Hindu devotees. The temple is visited the most during the festival of Navratri and is surrounded by holy water, where pilgrims take a dip to cleanse themselves. The interiors, along with other Hindu deities also have scriptures and manuscripts of the Hindu religion as well as intricate carvings of the presiding Goddess Durga in her many forms. The most noticeable thing about the temple, however, is the large doors that are engraved in Silver, giving it the nickname, the Silver Temple. Also, visit the popular attractions in the city by following Amritsar itinerary 3 days.

  • Great Temple nearby golden temple. It’s in the middle of huge pond. It’s a very clean pond. Its nice be there also once you visit golden Temple. Between these temples just one kilometre. If you looking at google map first lots of people thinks it’s golden temple. Durgiana Temple is not that rush like Golden Temple

  • This is indeed a very nice temple in amritsar. Huge water pond in the centre is attraction of temple. Water is quite clean and colour fishes in the makes it beautiful. Kids will enjoy company of fishes ☺. Its really peaceful place and it's structure and pond is quite similar to golden temple. Must visit place with family and kids.

  • Beautiful but Under construction; This temple is one of the finest temple of the nation but it was under construction when we visiting on 15th Aug 2018. Most of the surrounded area is under construction and the 2D view of the temple after construction is very beautiful. Visit it once, if you are visiting Amritsar. Don't forget to visit Hanuman temple just besides this temple.

  • An ancient Hindu place of worship. There are a number of temples dedicated to various deities. The temple sarovar (lake with fish of many colours and sizes) adds to the tranquility. Langar is served to devotees.

  • It was made in the verse of golden temple. Which will make u feel for a while that you are at Golden temple. It is very beautiful and lovely place. Also the cleanliness and management made it worth considerable to visit.
