This is basically a farmer’s market and you can get fresh products there. If you do not want to buy anything, then also you can go for a look of the whole thing and that will be pretty interesting as well. This may be a small market, but the products available there are indeed of very good quality and the feel of the place is intriguing. You may not buy the idea of purchasing things from the market for eating afterwards, but you can enjoy a piece of normal life of the city by watching the locals and that will be interesting indeed.
- If you want to enjoy the market completely, then a couple of hours will be needed.
- You should remember to be careful about the pickpockets, because you cannot evade them in a marketplace in any country.
- The Brown’s Cafe
- The Grasshopper Cafe

This is a small but very nice outdoor market held on Saturdays just outside Noorderkerk. Noodermarkt is open from 9am to 5pm during October but likely closes earlier during the colder winter months. Best to check their websites for upcoming weekend market hours. There are probably 30+ stalls set up in this small public space outside the church. You can explore it completely in 15-20 minutes, seeing lots of fresh produce, herbs, mushrooms, loads of great looking cheeses, bread stalls and a handful of organic and vegan friendly stalls as well. You'll find a handful of street side cafes next to the market and a clothes stalls at the back side of the market for those interested. In the end, I found this to be a nice little market to explore. If you enjoy visiting food markets, this is a good one to consider if you plan to spend time in this area of Amsterdam on a Saturday.
A must if you're searching for great outdoor markets in Amsterdam. Go for groceries, awesome local vendors, and breakfast or lunch!
Great grocery shopping: forgotten vegetables, homemade honey and condiments. Random antiques and imported and locally made clothes, more on the Indian / hippie side of life. May or may not find what you're looking for, but there are a lot of interesting gift ideas here.
Really cool experience to see what a Dutch farmers market was like. The breads were all so delicious looking, it was hard to choose!
An excellent local market with organic fruit, vegetables, flowers, fish, cheese and meats as well as a few specialist stores. The fresh breads are particularly good.
